CoFinder
CoFinder is a mobile app designed to deepen workplace connections by fun engagement between colleagues. The app allows users to create personal profiles, share their interests and needs, and connect with employees through chat rooms. After connecting, they participate in games, accumulating points to rank on the company leaderboard for a chance to win a monthly prize.

During the pandemic, employees faced a significant disconnect from their coworkers, missing the face-to-face interactions that fostered connections. Without the organic opportunities for casual conversations, it became difficult to sustain workplace relationships.
CoFinder was developed to address this issue by creating an app that bridges the gap through interactive games, aiming to revitalize workplace connections in a fun and engaging manner.
Problem
The app provides employees with an interactive way to create profiles and share their workplace needs and interests. After being paired with a fellow colleague, the two are introduced through a chat room before being sent off to compete in a game of the week. Each user earns points based on their performance, which are tracked on a company leaderboard, creating friendly competition among co-workers. At the end of each month, the top-performing employees have the chance to win a prize, which boosts engagement and incentivizes participation.
Solution
Initial Ideas
Our initial wireframe demonstrates how the user would enter the app by inputting their personal information. We would finalize the matching process and make it random instead of pairing together by common interests.
User Testing
Based on user testing, we realized a guessing game would be challenging for new employees and for larger companies. Alongside this, the design of our first prototype proved too saturated with the color palette and did not have sufficient interactive elements.
Final Prototype
The app's unique combination of professional networking and team-building fun helps small business teams rebuild and maintain connections, even in virtual environments, making it an effective solution for strengthening workplace relationships.
CoFinder is aimed at small business employees who seek to improve social engagement within their companies. These employees often work closely in small teams but lack consistent opportunities for socializing or team-building activities. CoFinder helps bridge that gap, providing a fun and meaningful way for team members to connect beyond their job responsibilities, fostering a stronger sense of belonging within the company.
Target Audience
Over half (57%) of employees also say that having a “best friend” at work makes their job more enjoyable, increasing their productivity and creativity.

Live Prototype
We developed a live prototype of the CoFinder app, showcasing the full user experience from profile creation to engaging in interactive games. The prototype allowed users to test the functionality of the chat system, experience the pairing process with colleagues, and participate in a demo of the weekly game.
